When buying roses, should I buy bare root or container grown?

in

I'm looking to plant more roses around the house. And I have heard about several different kinds that are available. What are the advantages and disadvantages of buying roses that are bare root as opposed to buying those which have been container grown?

How do I go about planting a rose bed?

in

I love roses, I always have. My mother used to grow them at our house, but I never took the time to learn how she grew such amazing roses. And now that I have a home of my own I want to start a bed of roses. The problem is that there is so much to know about planting roses, so my question really has several parts to it. How big should my plot be? Where in the yard should I put the bed? What type of soil should I plant in? And lastly, what kind of spacing should I allow?

Mr. Lincoln hybrid tea rose

My favorite rose is still the Mr. Lincoln hybrid tea rose.  It is a beautiful deep red and grows well here in California.

The main thing with roses is to make sure you get the ones that will grow well in your area.  Roses are very sensitive to where they are being grown, and some like a lot of rain while others like drought.  So be sure you check it out before buying roses for your garden.
