I love the hydrangea flowers. I think they're beautiful. Does anyone have any advice on how to dry them for dried flower arrangements? I have a big bush of hydrangeas; I do use fresh cut flowers as often as I can but would love to dry the extras to use when the flowers are no longer in bloom. Does anybody know how to do this?
Thanks,

How to dry hydrangeas for a dried flower arrangement
There are a couple of ways to dry hydrangeas so that you can use the flowers in dried flower arrangements. One way is to leave the flowers on the plant and let them dry completely. Then cut them off leaving a long part of the stem so that you can use them in an arrangement. Take the dried leaves off; just leave the dried flower on the stem and you can put them in a vase with other dried foliage and flowers for a very nice arrangement.
The other way to dry hydrangeas is to use silica gel that you can buy at any craft store. Just follow the directions on the package, which will usually tell you to bury the flower in a container filled with the silica gel. You would use a fresh fully-bloomed blossom. This method has a little cost to it, but the flowers will come out perfectly dried and very bright in color.
