Summer Wedding in Garden

We are looking to hold my niece's wedding in our garden.  The budget is not very big and it will be a rather small wedding, but we want to make it nice.  Any suggestions for how to make a small garden wedding a special event?  We're looking for ideas for food we can serve, decorations, and hints from anyone who successfully held a wedding in their backyard garden.

Thanks,

Fortunate

Mosquitos at the garden party

I will be hosting an outdoor garden party and we have mosquitos. What can I do? We'll be having the party in the afternoon about 4 weeks from now. Any suggestions for an odorless spray that I can use now or just before the party? I've heard there is something that kills mosquito larva, does anybody know what it is? Any ideas for what to equip guests with on the day of the party? Do citronella candles work? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Fourth of July Garden Party

I love the Fourth of July!  It is my favorite holiday!  This year, I would love to throw a big bash in my new garden.  I am looking for fun ideas for a kid-friendly Fourth of July Garden Party.  My daughter, Lucy, and her friends might be scared of fireworks, so I would love any ideas for planning a fun party in my yard.   That way, we can avoid the crowds downtown and relax in our beautiful garden!  I appreciate any help!

The best herbs for making herbal vinegars and oils

I have come across Dill flowers with peppercorns as well as the traditional Lemon Basil. But I really want to try and make some new herb and vinegar mixtures. These make such great party gifts. My wife and I put mason jars of Lemon Basil vinegar on the cedar settee, and by nights end, people have inquired about them and are taking them home. Its a great way to give our friends little gifts. So my question is, what other recipes do the rest of you have for great vinegars? Also, what oils work with fresh garden herbs?

Which of my flowers are edible?

In my patio garden I have jasmine and honeysuckle as well as some daylilies. I have read that these are edible, and can make a great addition to dishes both as a garnish, or as part of the ingredients. My mother always made jasmine tea, but I want to find some flowers that look good and are edible. I think most people know you can eat dandelions, but really, who would want to!? I have some lilac planted around my adirondack loveseat, any word on whether or not those are tasty and useful for some home and garden party dishes?
