Garden Furniture Maintenance Tips

Seaside Garden Furniture Cushions

I just posted a question on another part of the forum about garden furniture for beach houses.  I really want comfortable furniture, and to me, that means cushions.  (Yes, I'm a guy, but when I sit down, I don't necessarily need to feel like I'm camping in the woods!)

Treating Wood Furniture

Hi, everyone!

Best Paint for Metal Furniture

I have a set of metal garden furniture that I have owned for years.  It badly needs a face-lift, but I am not handy AT ALL. Frown Does anybody know about the best way to go about painting metal garden furniture?  Also-is there a type or brand of spray paint that works best?  I want to keep the furniture, and keep it from rusting.

 Thank you!

What are the advantages of sealing or painting my cedar deck chairs?

My wife and I have just purchased some beautiful cedar deck chairs. Their unique red and white contrasting tones make them so beautiful, but how do I preseve that as they get older. We are considering buying a cedar porch swing, but should we opt for the cypress porch swing instead? What painting or sealing of our deck chairs can we accomplish without hiding the look and feel of the cedar grain?

Taking care of wooden garden furniture

We all love outdoor furniture, but we have to take care of it or it will get rotten outside in the elements.

Wooden furniture can be washed down with soap and water every couple of months and then you can put a protective outdoor coating on it twice a year.  Your hardware store has lots of different coatings that you can get to protect the furniture you have.

A light sanding every couple of years can be helpful too.
